Storyline

This is by no means concrete.

There are 2 different factions fighting over the control of the world. One side is fighting for a world government, while the other wants individual anarchy for townships. You can choose who you fight for, which includes having obligations to nobody.

The progress will be based on recovered technology from pre-war. This will develop the world as they are discovered, and if one side recovers it, they will use it to their advantage with their own flair inserted into it. The other side will adopt it as well, but only after seeing it used against them a few times. If you are the one recovering the tech, then you can choose who and IF you give it to someone.

You have the option to create "Dead Zones" which are rampant with crime and strife. You do this by fighting both sides, leaving nobody to control the area. This labels you as an outlaw, leading down a different path along the story.

Combat

There will be key mapping for head, elbows, hands, knees, and legs. Left and right sides will have individual keys. When you are pressing the hotkey, the mouse buttons will have actions mapped to them. These actions can be changed to suit your playstyle and mutations more effectively.

Hit boxes will be realistic, and damage will be based on internal and external blood loss. When a body part takes too much damage, it will be crippled and unusable.

There are two kinds of damage: Crushing and Piercing.

There are two kinds of pressure that armor is rated on: Shearing and Compressive.

Bones are measured by tensile pressure.

There will be combos learned as a part of passive evolution. They are limited by your characters key attributes.

Basic Survival

Your character will have 3 things to worry about.

Hunger is depleted over time and if you have a mutation which excretes something.
Thirst also depletes over time, but is heavily influenced by your mutations.
Stamina is one bar that stretches across the bottom of your screen, and drains throughout the day from your actions. It is replenished by sleeping at night, and can be strained to cause further draining from a lot of actions at once, a long period of action without stopping, or various ailments.

Core

Post Apocalyptic, Steampunk Era, Free Roam

Radiation is global, all life is mutating. The weak have already died, the strong are adapting to suit their needs. There is no infrastructure left, but some humans trying to recreate their civilizations, and others who prefer a solitary lifestyle.

You are a test subject, having grown in a laboratory. You have no real background, and the only thing you know is the scientist and his experiments. As smart as he is, he is physically frail and succumbs to the radiation as many do. This leaves open character customization to be anything you desire.

You have no obligations, and the only thing you understand is the manipulation of DNA. You start with nothing, but as you progress you can change your body in three ways.

 - Passive Evolution: Based on your playstyle with subtle influence from you, your body develops to become stronger and more adept.

 - Controlled Mutation: You harvest DNA from other creatures and incorporate it into your body, causing dramatic changes.

 - Mechanical Augmentation: Become the Cyborg you want to be.
